Everything new is old again!

Well, good morning, everyone! This will be a (relatively) short post as I am all atwitter about a new author I discovered this week, and want to hit the bookstore to see if she’s written anything else! The book is called “I Met A Traveller In An Antique Land,” by a young, unknown named Connie Willis, and—

What’s that?

(Offstage whisper: She’s not “unknown”!!)

Oh … heh … okay, well, seems like, uh, she’s actually been around for decades, has written tons of books other than the one I just “discovered,” and is, well, kinda sorta famous!

(Offstage whisper: She’s even got a blog on Goodreads!!)

All right, all right, sorry!! However, that just makes me MORE anxious to visit the bookstores! I gotta read more from this multifaceted, Hugo- and Nebula-award winning author! I mean, she’s even been memed, for crying out loud!

Ironically, even though the book I “discovered” decries the digitalization and destruction of print books, the only way I was able to read it was on the Kindle, since print copies START at $200! Still, she’s got some other ones that look promising, and perhaps I won’t have to take out a loan to read one of them! So anyway, getting back to the whole weight thingy, it’s up a tad:

205.0

But that’s not too bad! And as I’ve done so many times before, I’m gonna direct you to Jay at Aworkoutroutine, who points out, in his June 4, 2019 post, “How Often Should You Weigh Yourself?“:

  • “Weight” is more than just fat or muscle.
There would be no downside to weighing yourself if the weight you lose and gain was guaranteed to always be either fat or muscle. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. Your body weight can and very often does change as a result of a loss or gain in muscle, fat, water, glycogen, poop, food intake and more. That means daily fluctuations in body weight (plus extra monthly fluctuations for women) are extremely common and normal. And it’s this fact that causes 3 other problems…

Good advice as always, Jay! So on that note, I’m outta here!

Oh, and if you’re at all interested in listening to my new podcast, let me just give you this link (https://anchor.fm/christine-a-lehman) to my Anchor at Spotify page, which has links to all the platforms you can listen on.  (And if you’re NOT interested, that’s okay, too!! I get it – podcasts are a whole nother level of commitment, so I won’t be trying to make anyone feel guilty about it! Just because I went to allele that trouble recording them …)

See ya next week!
